2 simultaneous RIPs?
I'm running the latest version of Production House (7.3.2). I noticed in marketing materials that Onyx says I can "run 2 simultaneous RIPs". Does this mean I can have Production House installed on 2 different computers?

My goal is to install 7.3.2 on another computer which has a fresh install of Windows 7 and test it out for a while before migrating over.

How can I accomplish this with only the 1 hardware key?

Thx.

I believe what they mean is that the license includes the ability to have two JAWS programs ripping two files to print at the same time. Not installed on two computers... (Right now I run PosterShop and I can only RIP one file to print at a time...)

As far as the hardware key goes -- I would say you can have ONYX on two machines, but you will have to move the dongle to the machine you want to use. I wouldn't think it would be a good idea to do this on the fly...

RE: 2 simultaneous RIPs?
Unfortunately, this does not mean 2 RIPS running on 2 different machines. What they mean is that under your general settings (FILE --> General Settings) you can change your number of Rips from 1 to 2 or more, depending on what is enabled on your key, and have 2 RIP engines running simultaneously on the machine, processing 2 files at once. Does that make sense?

You will not be able to share the hardware key between 2 physical installs, other than only running one at a time and just swapping the key from machine to machine. If all you're doing it wanting to test 7.3.2 on Windows 7 before moving the installation over to it, but can't take down your current production while testing, then I personally would contact your Onyx Rep and see if they would be willing to issue you a 30 day demo key.

I can't say for sure that they will do this, but it's worth asking. Other than that your only option is what I mentioned before, to run them separately and just switch the key between machines.

Ok - thanks for the info.
