iCut Issue
I am running Production House V7 and iCut vision. I run into this problem frequently. I didn't see this topic here already so I figured I'd give it a shot.
We create a "CutContour" line in Illustrator which imported into iCut works fine. We take that same Illustrator file and create an .eps which we Preflight and RIP, allowing Onyx to create the "Cut File". The end result out of Onyx gives us a double cut line, one on top of the other. the unusual thing is that it doesn't always do that, sometimes it's fine and we haven't been able to pinpoint the cause. Any thoughts? |

So you haven't been able to tell if it's random or not? Like does it only happen when you create your CutContour path with a certain color value, as opposed to another, things like that? Unless it's truly some random bug inside the software, there would have to be something that is different between the files that could possibly cause that (atleast you would think so).
What specific version of v7 are you running? There have been numerous issues that have been addressed between all the builds (7.1, 7.2, 7.3, etc). Might be something that was a known issue and has been fixed. Scott Manwaring / Administrator OnyxTalk.com - Global Support Community |

iCut Issue
You would think there is an obvious explanation but then again we are talking about Onyx
![]() We have tried everything. Different colors, stoke inside, outside or to center, different stroke weights. There seems to be no sense to it. Yesterday we printed a test panel which worked fine, went back to the Illustrator file and slightly, I mean 32nds of inch, adjusted the size of the cut line, reprossed and then it didn't work. Even though the same file had worked previously. Quite frustrating. Sounds like nobody else has ever brought this up? |

I don't recall this specific issue, but there have been numerous weird anomalies when it comes to generating cut paths in the 7.x releases.
Which printer is this for and what specific version/build of Onyx are you using? With that info I can do a little more digging and see if I come up with any hits with Onyx on previously reported issues. Scott Manwaring / Administrator OnyxTalk.com - Global Support Community |

iCut Issue
Scott,
This particular problem is under the following circumstances, although this has happened under different conditions as well. Illustrator CS3 "CutContour" created with .25pt stroke Onyx PH Ver. 7.3.0.57 Printer=Oce Arizona 250GT Cutter=Kongsberg XL24 running iCut As I say it doesn't really seem to be connected to this exact scenario but happens frequently. I have even had times where a double cut will be produced when ripping a file and then I drop everything except the "CutContour" out of the file and re rip, and it's fine. TIA |
