Parallel Port Key and 7.3.2

Parallel Port Key and 7.3.2
I've purchased a 6.5 version of ProductionHouse that I plan to upgrade to v7.3.2 and it has an old parallel port key. I dropped an email to the Onyx distributor who upgraded my PosterShop for me a couple years ago, but I think he might have gone out of business, so I thought I'd see if anyone had some real world thoughts on it.

The only thing I could find on the Onyx site was that the new HASP drivers don't work with the parallel keys and that you have to pull them out of the install folder before doing the install to avoid them replacing the old ones. I think this implies that besides this inconvenience everything works fine.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm assuming Onyx has some sort of mechanism for customers to swap out their old keys for newer USB ones. Has anyone done this? Is it a reasonable cost to do so? Do you have to contact Onyx to do this or can you just work with a distributor?

Appreciate any thoughts. I know most of these questions could be answered by contacting Onyx directly, but I thought it couldn't hurt to see what any of you all might think. Thanks.

RE: Parallel Port Key and 7.3.2
I can't say that I've tested it, but I didn't think that the parallel keys worked with the 7.x versions, but that's only my assumption. If you've paid for an actual upgrade (rather than just using your previous discs to try and get a 2nd copy running) then you should be able to get another key at no cost I would imagine.

Maybe someone else knows for sure. I'll see if I can get more info on it as well.

RE: Parallel Port Key and 7.3.2
When I went from my parallel port key to my USB key, I went through Onyx. I don't remember how it went down, but it came with the 6 -> 7 upgrade.

RE: Parallel Port Key and 7.3.2
Just a follow up in case anyone is interested in the future. Here's what I've learned.

You do need to switch out the parallel key for a USB one and it is included in the cost of the upgrade.

Onyx sends you a new USB key with a 30-day expiration. You then return your old key to them. Once they receive the old key, they send an email with the link to a key updater that removes the expiration.
