Wonder if it's in 7.x, but it's not in 6.x: individual job percentage

I still use 6.x, and haven't upgraded to 7.x yet.

In 6.x, when you set a printer's placement to "Conserve Media", it nests the jobs nicely. As a job queue proceeds, you have 3 colors in the Print Preview section: light red signifies that particular job printed, light grey means it IS printing, and dark grey means it is in queue ahead.

I'd love to see each individual job in queue show a change AS it prints. My printers are over 500 feet away, in a different building, so it's a hassle to try to know how far a particular individual job has printed.

FWIW, I currently have a webcam on each printer, so I can just look to make sure there are no errors, but it's not a great solution.

I don't understand what you mean by "As a job queue proceeds, you have 3 colors in the Print Preview section: light red signifies that particular job printed, light grey means it IS printing, and dark grey means it is in queue ahead."

Is it possible to take a screenshot of that? I have 7.2, and I can tell you if it's still there... but I've never noticed this feature!

I won't be by my RIP server for a few days, likely, but I will post a screenshot.

Basically, if you go to the RIP/print server window, click on an active printer at the top of the screen, on the right hand side is a column that shows you nested jobs. Instead of rending a preview of these jobs, it just shows rectangles with black X's through them in the approximate size of the job, and shows these in order of nesting. When they're printed, these rectangles turn pink, when they're printing, they're light grey, and those still queued/nested are dark grey.

It still shows the nested jobs with various shades depicting the different jobs, but I've honestly never noticed it changing any to pink when printing. I'll take a look and see. Most likely that is still the same as in 6.x I just don't think I ever noticed it doing that.

Yup, finished jobs turn pink.

I know for most people an actual status of each job is useless, because their printers are RIGHT THERE, but my printers are far away, so it would be quite helpful. And easy to add Smiley

I do NOT see my jobs turning pink upon print completion. I thought I was going nuts... but I definitely do not see that happening.

Anyone else?
