z6100 Firmware issues
Just recently updated to GG-10.0.0.2 on my z6100's firmware. Well, apparently there is a known issue with Onyx. From their support website:

HP z6100 Firmware Version 10
If you are running the z6100 and have updated the firmware to version 10 you must keep the printer calibration updated. If you do not then you may see issues printing large jobs. Once the printer calibration is complete it will resume normal operations.

So, I called Onyx, and they told me that we have to keep the paper advance calibrated because before there was communication between Onyx and the printer, and now that communication has been severed. But there is something not making sense to me. If there was communication before - was the printer reading something in all the time, sending advance calibration data to Onyx, then Onyx would adjust the printer calibration settings?

The guy on the phone did his best to explain it to me, but I'm confused, still. The reason this all came up was because everything I printed, on every printer I updated, started coming out too long or too short, and I would have to adjust the paper feed in Onyx every day, whereas I used to only have to do it maybe once a month.

Anyone have insight on this?
Thanks,
Jon

RE: z6100 Firmware issues
Update - I have been running a paper advance calibration EVERY morning, and it has seemed to keep the problem at bay.
